About This Program

Delve into the shared attributes of thriving startups, investors and intrapreneurs, while connecting with inspiring entrepreneurs who've treaded the same path. Your journey begins with immediate integration into a collaborative peer network, while our mentors and instructors, with their deep expertise in the entrepreneurial landscape, provide direct guidance.

Upon assessment of the final course project, you’ll receive a Certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership.

BECU and Western Washington University are proud to partner with the University of Washington to offer scholarships for this program. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and the potential of the program to positively impact your career. $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to five individuals. The application opens on October 23, 2023, and closes on November 30, 2023.

Meet Your Instructors

Kia Davis is a teacher, trainer, author, researcher and writer specializing in helping entrepreneurs reach their full potential and developing the ecosystems needed to support them. She has worked closely with entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, tech companies, government agencies and NGOs worldwide, including in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. To help small business owners create high-growth plans for their future, Davis wrote and published the book Flashpoint 100: Radical Business Growth in 100 Days.

Christy Johnson brings a wealth of experience as a leader and strategist to the classroom. She has been recognized as an entrepreneur and educator focused on creativity, strategy and the value of human capital. She has seven years of experience working with C-level executives, including almost four years at McKinsey & Company. In addition, she has been involved with three startups — one closed, one was acquired and the third is still in business. She has a demonstrated track record of delivering near- and long-term executable strategies across a broad range of industries, with specialization in venture capital, technology, media and health care companies.
