TESOL Application

Interested students must complete the TESOL Program Application to matriculate into the TESOL certificate program. Students may take TESOL coursework before being formally admitted to the program.

Program Application

Submit the TESOL Program Application

In the TESOL Program Application, you will be asked to submit the following:

  • Contact information and academic history
  • Unofficial transcripts (from institutions other than Western) and select coursework related to TESOL
    • Note: Unofficial transcripts can also be emailed to TESOL@wwu.edu after submitting the program application
  • Completion of at least one of the following:
    • A college-level course in diversity or cultural studies
    • A college-level course in a world language
    • A college-level course in education
    • Proficiency in a language other than English
  • Statement of language learning experience
  • Statement of interest for participating in the TESOL certificate

Once you have been admitted to the TESOL certificate program, registration information will be sent to you.
